Board Boot Camp (Virtual)

Board members will participate in board meetings and other engagements with more confidence and more knowledge about your role after attending Board Boot Camp. You will learn typical board responsibilities and explore the nuances of board authority and relationships. Participants take home Propel’s Board Boot Camp workbook, which includes the Fiduciary Duties of Directors of Charitable Organizations. While this training is open to all, it is designed for those new to serving on a board or those who are contemplating joining a board.

About the Presenters

Luciano Patino, Propel Nonprofits' Technology/IT Manager headshot.

Luciano Patiño

An avowed technology and operations geek, Luciano Patiño is the IT and Data Manager at Propel Nonprofits. He started his career working at NorthstarMLS, helping Realtors make the best possible use of the tech tools at their disposal. Since then, he has worked with several nonprofits, all with different business models, to launch new and highly customized Salesforce databases. As a consultant, Luciano leads workshops on cultural competency, using the Intercultural Development Inventory and other tools. He is the recipient of the Moxie Award for Community Leadership from PFund Foundation, and is a current Humphrey Policy Fellow. In his free time, he can be found coaching at his CrossFit gym or playing video games while curled up with is dog, Leila.

Sara Wessling, Propel Nonprofits' Training Manager headshot.

Sara Wessling

Sara is Propel Nonprofits' training manager. She has a passion for nonprofits and enjoys developing training to help organizations grow and thrive. She's worked as a program manager for a national child care association, a state support organization for Habitat for Humanity, and an association of leaders of volunteers. Over the past 15 years, she's had the opportunity to work with nonprofit organizations across the state of Minnesota delivering training, technical assistance and consulting support in areas ranging from volunteer engagement to program evaluation. Sara has a Master’s Degree in Nonprofit Management from Hamline University and an undergraduate degree in psychology and sociology.

Registrations canceled prior to the start of a training receive a full refund or credit transferable for you or another person to attend a future scheduled workshop.
