Fundamentals of Nonprofit Finance – Grand Rapids

This training is designed to make you more comfortable with nonprofit finance. We’ll walk through nonprofit financial reports including the statement of activities (income statement) and statement of financial position (balance sheet). You will gain an understanding of nonprofit finance terminology, accounting rules, roles and responsibilities, and procedures and policies. This workshop is right for you if you are new to the nonprofit sector, nonprofit finance, or your position as staff or board member. It’s also a great refresher for experienced staff and board members.

Join us at 8:30 am for a light breakfast and time to network before the training from 9:00 am-noon.

Sarah Jackson

Sarah is a loan officer and financial specialist at Propel Nonprofits. She has been working with or for nonprofit organizations in Minnesota for more than a decade in various roles including executive director of the Minnesota News Council and program director for the Minnesota Newspaper Association. Knowledge of nonprofit finance once eluded her, but now she loves helping nonprofit leaders decipher and understand the often exclusionary language of finance.
